Republican State House candidate in HD 41 (Leavenworth), Ann Reinhart, has a horrific record of violence against her own children. An assault conviction. A hospitalized child. A restraining order. Contempt of court. It’s a nightmare – and it’s utterly disqualifying.

As reported in the Sunflower State Journal on September 16, 2026: GOP House candidate losing support as questions surface about background

Ann Reinhart was convicted of assaulting her child and repeatedly violated her restraining order against her own kids. She is unfit to represent us in Topeka.

According to court documents, State House candidate Ann Reinhart abused her children over the course of years – injuring her daughter at just six years old, placing her hands around her daughter’s neck at age 10, kicking her 10-year-old son so severely he was hospitalized, and throwing glass jars at her daughter.

According to a 911 transcript, in March 2016, Reinhart’s daughter called the police on her after Reinhart kicked her son and threw multiple glass objects at her daughter.

By kicking her son while wearing hard shoes, Reinhart caused injuries severe enough that her son had to be treated at the emergency room. She also threw multiple glass jars full of beads at her daughter, one of which broke on her daughter’s leg.

Reinhart’s daughter told 911 that her brother’s leg was badly bruised and “turning purple” after he had been kicked by Reinhart.

After this incident, Reinhart pleaded guilty to 4th Degree Assault and to Disorderly Conduct.

After these incidents, Reinhart’s children’s father petitioned for a protection order against their mother on his children’s behalf. He reported that Reinhart had engaged in documented abusive behavior on multiple occasions, beginning eight years earlier in 2008.

In May 2016, Reinhart violated her Domestic Violence Protection Order by showing up at a school performance and sitting near her daughter.

Reinhart was eventually held in contempt for repeatedly violating her children’s restraining order by showing up at their home, school bus stop, and along the children’s bus route.
